This gal has done some travel, thanks to the military. Started in Ithaca, New York, and then the Army moved the family to Missouri. After graduating high school in Anchorage, Alaska she wanted to work for Eastman Kodak. Instead, she worked for Plymouth Photo in Rochester NY. The Family was moved to California, where she followed and soon joined the US Air Force. Ms. Summers did very little artwork while serving. Stationed in the United Kingdom, she was in a car accident, where she was medically retired. She did some civil service, and went to commercial art school. Was hired as an Art Director for the #3 ad agency in San Antonio. Soon after, she returned to school to get a BA from University of Texas at San Antonio. She shown in galleries thru-out San Antonio, with scratchboards, paintings, murals, carving and other sculptures. Her artwork has also been shown in Woodcraft magazine, Ampersand website, and Sukura gel pens website. After 35 years of living in San Antonio, Tx she moved to Acworth, Georgia. This is where she now has a clay studio, a blacksmith shop, and a huge woodshop. "June" is woodworker, woodturner, refinisher, and carver. She loves learning new art trends. Resin, glass blowing, and raku pottery are just a few of the art projects she wants to learn. Continue to check in and see what June is doing next.
Here you won't find anything for sale. This is only to show my artwork that was commissioned. You can also see what is going on these days. There has been several mediums tried, but the one that is used the most is wood. It's warm and beautiful and a old artform that folks are slowly forgetting. There are many pieces to see. Enjoy and if you need something made...CALL ON JUNE
